Veterans Equine Program

Are you Interested in Joining a Study Involving Veterans and Horses?

FREE PARTICIPATION IN AN EQUINE PROGRAM TO ASSIST VETERANS WITH OCCUPATIONAL STRESS INJURIES.

We address veteran’s social isolation and emotional regulation through working with horses. Our team includes an experienced horse trainer, a psychologist and researchers. The horse trainer demonstrates horse communication, safety, ground work skills, and natural horsemanship and teaches the veterans these skills with consideration of each person’s individual readiness to perform the skill.

There are 6 or 7 sessions with an experienced horse trainer and confidential meetings with the researcher/psychologist onsite. Currently we are running the programs in Langley on week-ends and evenings.

WHO PARTICIPATES?

Veterans who have an interest in learning to work with horses (no experience necessary!)

Veterans who want to learn about self-regulation (anxiety)
